Hi,
Please check the exact version number under the About Sigil menu. It should read Sigil 0.8.901 and not Sigil 0.8.900. Please verify that. I built and develop on Mac OSX and have seen none of those issues in Sigil 0.8.901.
That said, I have not upgraded to El-Capitan yet and won't until it gets a few updates done and much more stable, but my guess is it is an out of sync library that is causing the issue. It should not have broken anything. If Sigil 0.8.6 works (also my build), then Sigil 0.8.901 should work just as well. Also please verify in Manage Plugins that you have pointed your python3 interpreter setting at the bundled version inside the Sigil.app. To do that, erase what is there now for the python 3 interpreter path and hit the "auto" button, and your path should then be properly set.
Then test with a plugin the can work with Python 3 and let me know if it works or not. Maybe there is an issue with the python 2.7 version that comes with El-Capitan?
Please let me know what you see. If it still crashes, please generate a Crash Report and copy and paste it into a text document and zip it up and post it for me and I will try to track down what is incompatible.
Thanks,
KevinH

Never did this before. Anyone else have similar problems? I just use the previous version now and make my epub3 books in a different editor (Coda).
