Hi,

This has actually nothing to do with epub2 vs epb3. See my earlier reply.

Second, as of Sigil 0.8.901, Sigil can be used to do **simple** edits of epub3 epubs without messing anything up, as long as you stay away from things like auto toc creation, gui metadata editing, etc.
