Next up was the prequel to a new series from Janet Evanovitch and Lee Goldberg -- Pros and Cons, a Fox and O'Hare short story. This was OK, good enough to make me go ahead and try the first full novel in this series. I admit, I really liked the early books in her Stephane Plum series, but got bored with them fairly quickly. If this series has characters who don't grow and change, it will fail fairly quickly for me. But I've got a library copy, so at least I'm not out of pocket.
So, I read The Heist, the first novel in the Fox and O'Hare series. I very nearly abandoned it about 50 pages in, but I got past that and it was "OK". Not great, not particularly original, but not actively annoying, either. I might read the second one, IF I can get it from the Library. I wouldn't actually pay for it.

Next up, another Library book -- Mr. Churchill's Secretary, by Susan Elia McNeal. This is the first in the Maggie Hope series, and I've got some hopes that it might be interesting.
