Possible. Like I said, I have the .dmg from amazon.com but I'd gladly try another version to see if they are seeding different versions. There is certainly no law that prevents the copying of text from digital files in Germany. It works great on the iPad Kindle app and it seems to be no problem on the Mac in iBooks...
