If the Author folder goes, it is because the DB says there is no other books using (assigned to) it. The DB is wrong.

It may be confused if you used more than 1 OS on the Library
Windows is case insensitive. Linux can create john smith, John smith, John Smith folders Windows can not deal with 3 folders with the same name (to it)

Books were added/changed using the OS <big No No. read the FAQ's and stickies
