For those in the UK, there's an excellent free BBC TV channel, BBC4, which is dedicated to documentaries, so there's no shortage of them. I must admit that I have an intense dislike of many US-made documentaries shown on channels like "Discovery". Everything seems to be over-dramatised, and they also repeat the "headlines"every 10 minutes, presumably where it was originally shown with frequent commercial breaks.
