At long last iOS 9.0.2 has fixed an issue (not sure it was actually a bug) wherein custom made wallpaper images always zoomed in when the iPhone or iPad was put into Landscape view. I just added a new wallpaper I made to my iPad Mini Retina and noticed that when I go into
Settings --> Wallpaper and select the image that there is now a brand new option named
Perspective Zoom. The Perspective Zoom option was defaulted to
ON, but you can change it to
OFF. Here is what these option settings do.
- Perspective Zoom = ON: Wallpaper image does NOT change zoom level when you switch between Portrait and Landscape views.
- Perspective Zoom = OFF: Wallpaper image DOES change zoom level when you switch between Portrait and Landscape views.
Hey, it only took them 2+ years to listen to us!

Actually I think they labelled the options backwards, as I expected
OFF to stop the zoom and
ON to allow it, but at least it now works.
