Hello!
I was wondering if you guys could maybe help me find the right eReader for me.
I have a pretty good idea of what I want, but at the same time, I lack the knowledge to make a sensible decision based on what I've found online so far. (All my searches have just overwhelmed me, or I've ran into articles and posts that are several years old.)
I'll try to be concise about my wishes:
- I would like to be able to write on my eReader with a stylus or alike: both for taking notes and making annotations in a document.*
- I do not want a tablet: my eyes love eInk, and I don't want the distraction (and battery drain) that comes with additional gimmicks.
- I need to be able to read pdfs: I have books with formulas, and they don't convert well into other formats to my experience. (I used k2PDFopt to adjust the size of my documents when I still had a kindle.) - It doesn't have to be a massive reader since I'm okay with reading in horizontal mode, but larger than 6" would be good.
- It needs to be available in Canada, or at least the US :-)
- As always, preferably not too expensive...
Apart from the Sony Digital Paper (which doesn't abide by the last point) and Netronix 13.3" eReader (which doesn't seem to exist yet?), I have found a couple of ereaders by Onyx Boox, namely M96 and i86ML (and maybe a few others). But it seems like they are only sold on a German website (whose owner seems to be a member of this forum?), or for way too much money on eBay..
If someone has an idea of which product I should look at, I would be very grateful!
*I know there are things like SmartPens out there, but I would like to cut down on the amounts of paper I use, so it's not just about the digitalization.
