Well, they did write them to go down easy back in the day Mostly unchallenging prose and nice manageable length -- not doorstops like today.

Oh, speaking of doorstops and sagas, I'm surprised I haven't seen the Wheel of Time mentioned here yet (or did I blank it out?)
