Isn't it fortunate, then, that there is a 64-bit version of Windows.
And wouldn't it be so much simpler if we all just stuck with what I said earlier -- "reinstall the
64-bit version of Windows" -- then we don't have to assume any particular generation of Windows, and the reader is left to decide whether to track down Win7 64-bit or Win10 64-bit.
Our (mine and theducks) recommendations do not change just because someone
might choose to upgrade Win7 ==> Win10 in addition to (and as a totally different topic from) upgrading the bitness.
