From memory there's nothing in Cryptonomicon that makes any difference to the Baroque Cycle, but there are bits in the Baroque Cycle that have a bearing on events in Cryptonomicon.

Reading them in the order they were written in (Cryptonomicon then the Baroque Cycle) possibly makes one thing slightly more surprising than reading them in story-chronological order.

All four are now on my re-read soon list so i can see if I can spot why Cryptonomicon should be read first (might be hard now, I've got a bit too familiar with the stories...)
