I think Amazon oversold the Paperwhite as "flawless" and it came as a disappointment to many, especially if you already had previous e-ink devices like the KK. I'm sure some people do not mind the PW1 screen, but in dim light with the light down on the PW1 the screen looks yellow to me, and I have the bottom shadows, and the milky layer between the surface and text. I probably would have been much happier with just a good reading light and keeping the KK or even just use the basic Kindle.
I'm curious to see if there will be a new e-ink device from Amazon, I'm kind of surprised the e-ink devices are not going down in price compared to tablets, indeed they now have the Voyage at what is a very high price to me. I spent that much on a 13" Chromebook this year that I'm running Linux on as a full fledged laptop, so to me it seems overpriced, though I'm sure it is nice, and the Voyage sounds like what the Paperwhite was promised to be and should have been.
