There is no patch yet that I know of to disable the single-finger swipe brightness adjustment. I've looked because I would like to disable it myself, but I couldn't find how to do it.

When Kobo first introduced this feature is worked very well, it could only be activated by running your finger along very close to the bezel which was something I wouldn't do by accident. Unfortunately they later changed it so that it could be activated quite a long way from the bezel, and as a result it is now quite easy to activate by accident, such as when using a vertical swipe to clean dust from the screen.

Edit: BTW I think the swipeBrightness=false config file setting is supposed to be for controlling the Aura's two-finger swipe brightness adjustment, not the single-finger swipe on other devices. However those with a Glo might see swipeBrightness and pinchToZoom in their config file because the last few firmware versions mistake the Glo for the Aura in a few places.
