Some people just abhor spending money.

I do know several people who are always "out of money" despite having several thousands in the bank (not counting savings), and never "can do anything because it's so expensive."

If they keep this up for the next 50 years (they're around my age), they will have done nothing, bought nothing, experienced nothing, and they will die with tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of euro's in their bank account.

Money is of no use after you acquire enough to keep up a fairly comfortable life. What is the difference if I have €5000, €50.000, or €50 million in the bank if I'm loath to spend a single dime and it just stays there until I die?

I always say: "If you want something and can afford it, then buy it."
