I last read James and the Giant Peach when I was fairly young and it hasn't stood up well for me. I really enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when I re-read it a few years ago but this was only so-so. Although memories of the movie (Gene Wilder NOT Johnny Depp) did help keep it timeless for me.
The Kill Artist was ok as well, I will have to try another in the series before I make up my mind on the series as a whole though.
In the mean time I received Jenny Lawson's new book,
Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things, and just today received Brandon Sanderson's new Mistborn book,
Shadows of Self, both from my library after recommending them prior to publication. I have had Furiously Happy for a few days now so I will start with it before moving on to Mistborn which is unfortunately not available for the Kindle from my library, booo!!! I hate reading on my phone but will deal with it since I don't know if/when they will get a Kindle copy and there are already 30 people on hold for Furiously Happy (4 copies) and 10 people on hold for Shadows of Self (1 copy). I will try to hurry through both of them to free them up for others.
