Those retailers would then have to be very sure they'll have the customers for that device. And how many retailers are there anyway, that sell Kindle readers? I only know of one here in the Netherlands...
And it's never good, I think (but I've not studied economics, in fact I always was terrible in it) to let rumours like that go around. People will not buy a Voyage 1 if they think it'll be outdated within 2 months. So, if that Voyage 2 doesn't show up, you'll have not sold a lot of Voyage 1 either in that time. (and as the title of this topic already said, it was supposed to be the end of September, and now I read somewhere November...)
Take me, for example. There were rumours, but it stayed at rumours. So I decided to go for the reader I knew wouldn't get an update within a month or 2: the Kobo. Why wait for a few months and then probably for another few months, etc, when I can buy another reader that also ticks most of my boxes now?
