Toxaris - I changed a few settings - Dialogue Checking, Preparation, Ribbon, Small Caps, and Tag Formatting - the settings seemed to persist, i.e. they survived a Word exit and a Word start. I did a cursory test of Dialogue Checker functionality with changed settings - seems OK, so I assume the others are too.
So I reinstalled 1.12.2, as I did yesterday, I checked a couple of things to ensure I hadn't broken anything, Everything was OK. And then, for no good reason, I looked at the %appdata\Toxaris folder - by gosh, the previously absent ePUBToolsSRRules.xml was there!!
So I reinstalled 1.13 and did a test, without changing
my replacement rules document, or looking at S&R settings. Seemed to work OK. Much faster to start and the Replace All works exactly as I hoped it would - I haven't checked out the Whole Word feature yet.
Yesterday all I did was -- install 1.13, run S&R which did nothing, tried, without success, to look at S&R settings; at that point I pulled the plug on 1.13. Today I did a lot more fiddling around with settings to ensure they persisted. But I did not look at S&R settings
my assumption being, since nothing substantive had changed since yesterday, S&R would still be broken today
. All very strange, but Word add-ins are a bit of black art
I'll make necessary changes to my replacement rules document, and make use of new features in coming days. If you don't hear from me by next week you can assume it's A-OK, but I will try to remember to come back with a thumbs up before then. Rest assured I'll come back if it's not OK
