I didn't get around to posting at the time but I want to say a belated thanks for this thread. After a free month's trial I had just signed up and paid for a year of Prime for the first time in September for $99, and after seeing this thought I'd try asking customer service if I might redeem the deal somehow the day it was on. They were great and simply credited me back $32. I have to say, I love Amazon customer service and I'm loving Prime too.
