Amazon has been generous over the years in merchandise returns. Having said that, there are many cases like Josie's mentioned on Reddit. I expect there will be many more. Amazon is huge, and is becoming heavy-handed, take today for example:

I had planned on buying a new Chromecast from Amazon, they took away that choice and lost that sale. They were recently in the news about how badly they treat their employees. And it may be that the customer loving honeymoon is over too, or soon will be.
The answer? Disconnect and no longer buy anything from Amazon. I know that is not easy for some people, but as they get bigger I'm sure things will get worse with them.
