I knew I should have asked about that. But, as you said you were using calibre, I made an assumption. For support of Kobo devices released since calibre 1.48 was released, install KoboTouch driver for calibre 1.48. This adds the device ids* so that the device is recognised. It also adds any extra code to handle changes in the firmware. At the moment, this is just updating the firmware version number.

You have to install the plugin manually. I haven't put it into the plugin list because I know as soon as I do I'll get a pile of questions about whether it is needed or why it stops something else from working.

At this point, you cannot use the extended driver with this plugin. You will need to convert to kepub and send them to the device.

And as jackiew said, if you have copied a kepub from calibre to the device and changed the extension to ".kepub.epub", it should be processed by the device as long as it isn't in a directory whose name starts with a dot. And the file name doesn't start with a dot.

* Note to self: Update this to include the Touch 2 and the latest firmware versions.
