- The library settings has "Only show downloaded images" selected.
In this case, the count on the collections list will include the books that haven't been downloaded. But, when you open the collection, only the books actually on the device will be displayed. And calibre won't show these books in the device list or maintain the collections for them unless you select the "Show archived books" option in the driver configuration.

Yes that's exactly the problem. I do have "only show downloaded images ticked" and that seems to be the issue. I've now removed that tick and I can see the in cloud books in those collections.
I have always downloaded the kobo books them removed them so I only have sideloaded books on the device (more so I don't get confused tbh). The kobo books go in separate collections starting with zzz.
For example
Without You from kobo will be in the zzz Josie K collection
Without You sideloaded will be in the Contemporary collection.
However on my Glo the Kobo Without You is in both collections. Is this because it's picked up the same name, ignoring the fact that I never added the Kobo Without You into the Contemporary collection? And the bookshelf in Calibre for that book is only Contemporary. The word Kobo is in the tags?
If so I guess this is the case on my H20 too only I've never realised as I have hundreds of books on that reader.
