Not sure if this is something, but I wanted to test it out in my cart (did not purchase, just seeing the comparison) and the VIP membership is couponable. O_O

It also does 10% off couponable books and you can add a coupon on top of it. (It discounts the book in your cart, then the coupon applies to the discounted price.)

For me, I think if I could get my hands on a really high value coupon (75%+), it might be worth it just to try out. But I am not interested in paying $10 or even $5 for it at this point in time. YMMV.
