Every dollar spent = 10 points. Books start at 2,400. There seems to be no correlation between what a book sells for in dollars and what it costs in points, but the 2,400 point books I looked at sold for $0.99-$3.99.
I'm all for stores trying new things, but yeah having to spend $240 to get enough points for a $4 book seems really expensive. I don't see this making me buy more from them in an effort to get points, but if I ended up with enough points for a book it'd be a nice bonus.
Other points programs for eBooks I can think of would be...
Harlequin, where $1 = 100 points and 5,000 points = a free book of your choice that's $8.99 or less. A fair number of free point opportunities too.
OmniLit/AllRomance eBooks, where buying 10 eligible books (basically non-agency, all clearly marked) gets you one eligible book free (excluding bundles, box-sets and titles over $25).
