Ereader with syncing of side-loaded content

Hey all, I bought the Onyx Boox T68 last year and it was awesome, but got really flaky after 6 months and even a reset didn't help it. So I've been using my Note 3 as an ereader since then. Currently Moon Reader is my favorite app, but it's just.... okay... so I feel like a change. Plus I miss reading on an e-ink screen. Could just buy another android based e ink device, but none ump out at me and I'd like to get more than 6 months out of a device.

So I've heard Kindle allows the syncing of sideloaded content, even if I have to email it to Amazon to get it loaded. Am I wrong? Do Kobo or Nook offer anything like that? I've bought content from many different stores (gotta love sales lol) so the store doesn't matter to me. Most of my books are from smashwords anyway since I don't have to bother trying to strip drm from them.

Does anyone know of a Android based e-ink reader that has better long term reliability than the t68?

Otherwise, if I pick up a kindle, I see that the newest ones don't have buttons. What's the most recent version with buttons? I prefer using buttons to turn pages as opposed to swiping the screen.
