Same here (H2O, 3.18.0). In my case, it's a black bar in the midst of the screen, occupying about two thirds of the screen. In other words, that "bar" completely ranges from top to bottom but doesn't occupy the whole width of the horizontal space. Very irritating.
Like you said, deleting
FullScreenReading or setting it to
false solves the issue.
