wow, so many. I love a good caper so the Dortmunder books by Donald Westlake or his Parker novels are also great (they do drift a bit towards the end though).

Lawrence Blocks Bernie Rhodenbarr books are always fun.

I also enjoyed Margaret Atwood's 3 books that start with Oryx and Crake.
