Just FYI, Calibre would handle the conversion automatically and transparently when you send the book to the Kindle, and if you were short on library storage space, you could delete all the Kindle format books with one click. I wouldn't be surprised if someone could tell you how to set it so the Kindle format copy is deleted automatically after it's sent.

Using Calibre as library manager enables a lot of device freedom as a fringe benefit.
