I'd like to know where they get the statement "Amazon, which controls some 65 percent of the e-book market" from.

I understood that the 65% was estimated by the BPH's based on how much of their business is flowing through Amazon. It's clear from the Author's Earnings reports that isn't as significant a percentage of Amazon's total ebook business as the BPH believe. Amazon confirming that their e-book business continues to grow while the BPH report decline would support that Amazon has much more than 65% of the total e-book business.

Oh well, Amazon isn't talking so we won't know for sure.
