I'd like to know if it is even possible for Amazon to police it? How would they know if you did do it? I went to the webpage for the Prime gifting. It looked straightforward enough--give date that you want it to start, name of person that you want to give it to, etc.

Then I looked over my Prime membership information under my "Account." Nothing there seems like it would be a problem. You can have them send you a message letting you know when it is about to expire, before it auto-renews. Okay, you can cancel it then. Later in the day, maybe the next day, you can use your gift to yourself to start a new Prime membership. Does anyone see a snag that could come up there?
