As for the general low impact of the actual materials of an SD slot, multiple people have repeatedly pointed out that you haven't taken into consideration all the many things that are impacted by an SD slot.
Design, manufacturing, customer support all add their part.

It takes little understanding of the contemporary human mind to figure out that a Kindle Paperwhite with SD slot would generate far more CS calls than one without.


But then, you knew that. That's why you ignored all the posts except for mine (which unfortunately was not nearly as broad as you claimed)...
