One of my dogs is deaf, and the other one (a "rescue" that lived his first eight years outside, no doubt listening to storms and fireworks and what-not), couldn't give a rat's clacker about the noise. We're lucky that way, though the late Monts wasn't fond, and with fireworks or storms would crawl under the coffee table (a reasonably feat for a larger dog) and pretend everything was okay.

At the moment, I'm listening to fans and an air-conditioner, because the morning after New Years Eve is always one of the quietest of the year.
