I don't want to jailbreak, and if I can help it, I won't use anything beside AZW3. I don't actually care what format the e-reader uses, as long as Calibre can convert to it, starting out with an EPUB
edit: it seems to work

Size 4 is now a good one, and 5 through 7 are also usable. 7 and 8 are obviously very large, but not as huge as they were.
I have attached FONT_RAMP.ZIP to this post. If you want to try it, extract the file FONT_RAMP from it, and put it into the Kindle's root folder. Then restart the Kindle. It works on a Kindle Paperwhite 1 with the latest firmware; I don't know with which others it will work.
