Very fine cracks in the case

I've had my Mini from new, bought in Oct 2012. I've just noticed in the last couple of days some very fine, hairline cracks in the case, near two of the screen corners. I'm reminded very much of the lines I started getting on my Kindle Keyboard back in the day, which was acknowledged as a fault by Amazon and was replaced.

Not that I think this is a fault per se, and it could be just wear and tear, but I wondered if anyone else has seen it on a Mini, or any Kobo of a similar age. My feeling is that perhaps the plastic they used becomes more brittle with age.

Oh and yes, I have a case, no I haven't dropped it, but I do use it and I don't wrap it in cotton wool. I suppose it could be accidental damage but I'd expect large cracks from that I think. In any case, what I really want to know is if anyone's seen the same thing?
