I'm pleased to see Mantano finally offer a free version for iOS. I wanted to try before I buy. I've loaded 3 books on so far, just to see how it goes. I like the look so far, although it is a bit on the bright side. This may be my substitute for Overdrive for library books. Overdrive's latest update rendered the app unusable, it's just awful now. Hangs, freezes, just can't deal with it.
I think I'll install Mantano on another i-thingie and see if the books manage to synchronize. It's a feature I like and one Bluefire was striving for and didn't quite get there, the app would freeze if I had that feature enabled so I just gave up. Overdrive succeeded maybe about a year ago or more with Onedrive, then the feature stopped working with one of their updates.
Another must have for me is the ability to highlight and annotate. Not sure yet how Mantano deals with that.
I do like Bluefire, but good grief, their method of setting a bookmark is awfully clunky. Instead of just setting the bookmark, a window opens and you have to "save" it.
I just want an app that will read e-pubs, both drm'd and not. I don't feel like going through all the stuff of converting on a computer and then loading onto my reading devices.
Thanks for posting, Sangahm.
