Sorry if I accidentally implied calibre was stagnating.
I meant, of course, more or less what Kovid said. calibre is stable enough that changes will tend towards being major, time-consuming rewrites rather than quick fixes and small modifications.
At least until the big changes break everything in small ways, ushering in the next era of small modifications to an existing codebase.
