What functions are you expecting in the "Reading Menu"? I suspect any function you are looking for are in the menus you're finding, just deeper down (pressing some buttons in menus will bring up additional menus).
The "sharpness" function was folded into the "weight" function quite a bit ago, so you won't find it in any of the newer firmware versions.
