IFTTT is a great service and I've used it for a ton of things, I don't send raw feeds from sites into Pocket though because like I said earlier if you aren't selective you get a lot of junk in there. However, if you have an aggregation service of some sort that can prune your feeds into an aggregate feed of more likely candidates for reading, that's a great source for feeding into Pocket.
I use Fever for my feeds which is web-based and then have saved articles I want to read later shoved into Pocket via IFTTT which works for me but not for everyone.
IMO webmail is clumsy on the Kobo because browsing is clumsy.
