I find night reading on my Paperwhite unpleasant after more than 5-10 minutes. I cannot find a brightness setting that is comfortable, it seems simultaneously too bright and not bright enough, contrast never seems sufficient, lighting appears irregular (though better than external clipon light of yore). The Voyage should well be better, but I have no way to know. In full dark environment, I prefer LCD screens with white text on black, perhaps with brightness turned down a little bit. It's very consistent, crisp contrast etc. That's still not ideal, but I can tolerate it for longer periods, and have never felt it affected sleep much.
Ideal for either screen type is having ambient light so pupils are naturally contracted, lending better natural focus.
