i totally second issybird on this matter.
not to sound too snobbish, but if i, a run of the mill italian guy with a mere BA, can, with the right attention and intent, manage to better my listening skills using audiobooks, at the same time managing to understand nearly every word spoken in a book, provided a good reader, EVERYONE whose native tongue is English could definitely do that.
@ worm in glove: i'm not sure how can i say that without offending you, but if your chaperone in the audiobooks world is Bill Clinton(!!!!) then you're asking not to be choked after putting your neck on a noose, so to speak...
beware from audiobooks read by people who aren't professional readers! reading is an art!
