This has the feel of a fictional book (and author Joseph Wambaugh has written some of those) but, unfortunately it's not--the story in it is true. As a former Los Angeles Police Department detective sergeant along with being a bestselling author, there may be no one as eminently qualified to tell a story like the one in this book than Wambaugh.
