I was one of the people who voted "No.".

I don't think that open source projects should be "Paid" for. If it was working on such a project, I wouldn't accept the money. To me, accepting donations means that you are required to provide full support for your creation, and accept any liability from it.

We certainly have plenty of developers willing to do this work for free, in their spare time. The problem for most people, I assume, is finding that free time. Money's not really a factor.
