I guess the term in english is "Tabs width" ? Hence the confusion with this :

The 'Tab' is the Character Tab ( ASCII 9) when converted to spaces (ASCII 20)
I don't disagree that a
CAP on the Window-Tab width (max-width) would be useful as it assumes the size of the filename which can be absurdly long in some cases.
