Hi, I have got as a gift Onyx Boox i86ML Plus. It came from China's onyx-international.com. As I can understand it is the same as what is being sold by booxtor on ereader-store.de.
I am very happy with it so far. From other threads, mainly M96, I followed different solutions to improve the i86. Rooted it with Towelroot v.1 without any problem, installed NinjaMorph and changed my screen savers, installed Market helper and then installed Ivona Text-to-speech HQ with voices, and plus now option to install basically any apk
I can provide the details if anyone wants, but everything is on this forum already.
Reading PDFs is working well, the screen is detailed and with the front light it is even better.Scribbling is also working well, and actually I was quite surprised how accurate it is with a finger. Annotations also works, the only problem is near the borders, because of the thickness of the finger. A stylus would work better.
What are the experiences of others?
One question I have if anyone knows what is the difference between the firmware updates from Onyx-International.com (i86ML Plus firmware : 2015-08-03_14-58_1.7.3_rc1_a17dee9) and Booxtor's ereader-store.de (update 2015-8-16)? I have installed the first one, and would like to know if there is any advantage of installing the second one instead?
