A few traditional old-school (so far) fantasy series I've started lately:
Brian Staveley - The Emperor's Blades (Unhewn Throne series)
John Gwynne - Malice (Faithful and the Fallen series)
Elspeth Cooper - Songs of the Earth (Wild Hunt series)
Helen Lowe - The Heir of Night (Wall of Night series)
And yes, Brandon Sanderson is probably the king of the non-grimdark at the moment.
