Sorry, but no... If Indiana Jones wasn't there, the Nazis would still possess the Ark, and gained knowledge about its capabilities - presumably enabling them to weaponize it later on. Thanks to Indy, the Allies took the Ark and stored it safely away.

(But to be fair, the Indiana Jones argument is actually funny.)
