You should first introduce the device to Win10 without any apps that interact directly with the device (e.g. calibre, ...) running. After that first "introduction" session, you should be able to return to your normal procedure.

Also, for those that used the installer file on portable computers, allow Updates (downloads) to complete and install, reboot. Repeat
There were a whole bunch that needed to be done, some were 100M+ files .
There were things that still did not work after the first batch completed (with a allowed reboot), that just started working the next day.
(W10home does many updates in background and s not mask-able. W10 pro has a option for a 30 day delay)
