The
explorer referenced in the link eschwartz provided is explorer.exe which is commonly called Windows Explorer latterly File Explorer, the executable for Internet Explorer is iexplore.exe - that's been so since Windows 98!
I would be very wary of using any of the file manager "Replace Windows Explorer" options. The explorer.exe program is tightly integrated with the Windows kernel. I've see problems with TC, Directory Opus, and xPlorer˛ implementations. Not with calibre specifically, but generally, e.g. screw up all or parts of the Control Panel, problems with some bit torrent clients.
Besides which, you use should use calibre itself to manage the library directory structure, if use you a file manager then you'll likely as not break the nexus between it and the database.
