my magic memory upgrade mod (external variant) does the same; and the first thing it does is uninstall itself, so if it goes wrong, everything should be normal when you reset.
you could also use my webportal / filemanager mod and download /dev/mmcblk0 with it.
but no guarantees, every mod no matter how simple brings the risk of brickage with it... even official firmwares if you download them from here have that risk. and I don't have an aura so - I test my mods on my H2O but very difficult to say what other readers will do (like just now someone reported AutoShelf not working on Glo HD and I'm stumped as to why that would be).
