Failed restoring complete Kobo drive backup

Hello,

I just received a new Kobo Aura from warranty and I want to restore the previous firmware version, reading status and settings I had in the broken Kobo. In other words, I want to revert this new Kobo state exactly as before.
As I make periodic backups of the full Kobo drive (all invisible items included), I was expecting the procedure to be as straightforward as to erase everything from the new Kobo drive and restore with the backup.

I just found out it does not work like that.

I tried restoring the backup before the Kobo made any updates via wi-fi and I tried as well after I let it update to latest firmware. Both ways failed to restore my previous backup because the firmware version from Device Information never corresponded to the backup one. For example, my Kobo is currently operating with the restored backup from firmware 3.16 but in device information it shows 3.17.3.

Either way, what I'm trying to understand is how can I restore the new Kobo to the latest backup from my old Kobo.

In other words, what's the correct procedure to restore a full drive backup?

I already searched around and googled but with no success. Found this thread (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...=224127&page=2) but procedures may change over time and I need to be sure.

Thank you all.
