I don't see why that would be necessary -- the trick to KFX is not copyright-"enforcing" DRM, it is the fact that the file format is an entirely new iteration.

actually discussed when it was reverse-engineered, but I don't see why that either would be banned on MobileRead.
Rule of thumb -- if it would be merged into the official calibre codebase, it would also be okay to discuss on MobileRead.
